Guildy is a 30+ year old Goffin's cockatoo who lived his entire life with his human companion, who loved him dearly. Unfortunately, Guildy's companion passed away. Guildy had been through a lot over the couple of years while his human's health steadily declined including living in such poor conditions that animal control had to be called; and then again over the last 10 months of his journey from foster home to foster home. This adorable little guy landed here in March 2020 and will now be able to live out the rest of his life at our sanctuary, interacting with other birds and our volunteers, if that's what he chooses to do. Guildy has settled in nicely and so far gets along just fine with all of our other birds and "most" of our volunteers, depending on the day :) Although he sustained an injury to his right wing sometime in the past that prevents him from flying, little Guildy really gets around and doesn't like to stay in one place for too long. And don't let that sweet little face fool ya!! Guildy goes through wood and wooden toys like a buzz saw that rivals his larger cockatoo cousins! The cost of supplying Guildy with toys and other items to keep his mind and beak busy, really adds up!
