We hope that you will join us in honoring Hogan’s memory by donating to this critical fund. Your monthly gift will provide emergency and wellness medical care, prescription medications and other therapies for all of our residents.
Sweet Hogan was a badly abused 35+ year old Red-lored amazon who came to our sanctuary in April 2016. She had extensive old, untreated injuries including a broken femur and pelvis that didn't heal properly, and an injury to her right wing. She also had a heart murmur, kidney disease, an overgrown scissor beak, cataracts, bacterial infection, arthritis, deformed right foot and overgrown twisting nails.
For years this beautiful little girl endured unimaginable pain and suffering, yet in spite of it, she was just as sweet as she could be. Here at our sanctuary, Hogan was finally able to enjoy a happy and comfortable life on what became her favorite pillow. She was respected and well-loved by everyone at the sanctuary until she passed away from kidney failure on March 26, 2017. Rest in peace sweet angel.

This important fund helps provide our sanctuary residents with fresh produce, nutritionally balanced pellets, and a variety of nuts and treats. Please join us by contributing to this nutritional “love language” fund that provides a fresh, healthy diet for our feathered residents each and every day. It has been a lifeline back to good health for many of our residents.
Pogo is a beautiful 24 year old Citron-crested cockatoo. Before coming to our sanctuary, Pogo was living in deplorable conditions in a hoarder's home where he was kept in the bottom of a small triple-stacked cage pushed into the corner of a filthy, fly infested room. Since he arrived without a name, we chose to name him Pogo after the Citronella plant genus: Cymbopogon. Some of Pogo’s favorite foods are broccoli, spinach, sweet peppers, almonds, and a variety of fresh greens.

Become a Tinker’s Toys sponsor, and help provide valuable activity and enrichment for our residents!
Tinker, an old wild-caught Orange-winged amazon, came to us because his human of more than 30 years passed away. Tinker arrived in the tiny, filthy cage in which he had spent his life. He was missing 3 of his toenails and suffered from a lifetime of malnutrition from eating a poor quality seed diet. Tinker has really "come out of his shell" since being transitioned to a healthy organic diet here at the sanctuary.
Captive parrots can benefit tremendously from the enrichment they get while interacting with toys, which can mimic activities that they would otherwise perform in the wild, like foraging for food. One of Tinker's favorites toys are birdie bagels!

Our ”Be a Buddy” fund honors one of our smallest residents, cockatiel Buddy. This fund provides critical resources for the myriad of recurring and unexpected needs of the sanctuary. Give what you can each month to this important fund and “be a buddy” to all of our precious residents! 🤝
Buddy is an adorable male cockatiel estimated to be around 25 years old. For 15 years, Buddy's best friend in the whole wide world was Hollywood, the executive director's cockatiel who passed away in 2021 at the ripe old age of 32. The missing feathers on little Buddy's face and head are the result of his bestie plucking them out during their preening sessions. Amazingly many of those feathers have grown back in!
