Pogo is a beautiful 23 year old Citron-crested cockatoo. Before coming to our sanctuary, Pogo was living in deplorable conditions in a so-called "rescue" where he was kept in the bottom section of a small triple stacked cage in the corner of a filthy, fly infested room. Since he arrived without a name, we chose to name him Pogo after the Citronella plant genus: Cymbopogon. He is aptly named "Pogo" as he bounces quickly from one place to the next!
Favorite foods: almonds in shell, cooked red lentil pasta, grape tomatoes and sweet peppers, and a variety of fresh greens
Favorite Toy: lollipop sticks and any toy with lollipop sticks
NOTE: Native to Indonesia, Pogo's wild cousins are critically endangered due to illegal trapping for the pet trade, along with deforestation for logging and agriculture.
