Sponsor a Parrot

This is a wonderful program where you donate monthly or annually by sponsoring one or more of our sanctuary residents. For more information and to see the birds currently available for sponsorship, please visit our Sponsor A Parrot page .

Volunteer

Volunteer Commitment:  We are always in need of compassionate, dedicated volunteers, who are 18 or older, and who can make a commitment of one day a week for at least six months. Reliability is important to ensure our birds receive a consistent high level of care.

Volunteer Duties:

  • making and distributing toys
  • providing spray bottle showers
  • engaging and socializing
  • cleaning cages, changing papers
  • washing bowls and food dishes
  • measuring and serving food
  • providing fresh water
  • preparing fresh food
  • scraping, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors
  • monthly maintenance duties
  • special projects as needed

If you have a special skill or you're an expert in any of the following, we could sure use your help:

  • woodworking
  • handyman/handywoman
  • photography/videography
  • marketing/social media

While these extraordinary animals are challenging and rewarding to work with, volunteering for just 3 to 6 hours, one day a week, can make a big difference in their lives!

If you would like to volunteer, please send an email to info@icarusfoundation.org and request a volunteer application.

In-Kind Donations

We also welcome donations of the following:

  • pre-approved safe bird toys
  • unsalted nuts (No peanuts, please!) - You can purchase a specially priced care package at Nuts.com selected specially for the parrots in our care by clicking on the link.
